Head of Food Development

Are you ready to take the lead in shaping the culinary experience for guests at a top UK holiday company? We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Head of Food Development to join our client''s team. This pivotal role supports the strategic proposition by developing food menus across a variety of outlets, including restaurants, pub kitchens, sports bars, QSRs, and seaside treats. The company has an impressive growth plan and aims to have 14 resorts in three years.In this role, you will lead the food stage gate development process to ensure alignment across departments and timely delivery of marketing propositions. You will identify and source cost-effective products to meet budget and sustainability targets while maintaining product catalogues for efficient ordering. Additionally, you will manage buying lists to ensure relevance and accuracy, create and cost recipes, and report on theoretical gross profit for individual dishes. Supplier management is also a key responsibility, where you will maintain positive relationships and promptly address stock issues. Coaching and developing team members to enhance their skills for smooth menu transitions will be essential, as will collaborating on kitchen layouts and equipment to improve operational efficiency. Fostering a positive workplace culture will be crucial in driving team engagement and performance.Proficiency in D365, Allergen Management, and Microsoft Office is required. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, enabling them to build relationships effectively. You should have excellent planning, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills, along with being self-motivated, organised, and detail-oriented. A passion for continuous learning and improvement, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and a proven ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines are essential attributes for this role. You should be prepared to travel away from home for two to three days a week at resorts throughout England, while also having the option to work from home. You can reside anywhere in the UK, but a valid driving license is required.You will know youve done a great job when a clear strategy for menu development is established and communicated, a food development calendar is in place, and margin targets are met with opportunities for improvement identified. Consistent food standards should be maintained, and there should be positive growth in NPS.In return, we offer a competitive salary of £55,000, a £10,000 bonus, and full expenses.
