The role focuses on driving revenue and gross profit growth in cyber security solutions, through proactive identification and closing of new business opportunities in collaboration with theBytes account management team.Purpose of the role
As a Cyber Security Solutions Specialist, you will drive revenue and GP growth and expand market presence within a defined customer segment. The primary goal is to identify, develop, and close new business opportunities—within existing trading accounts and with net new customers—through a collaborative sell-through approach with Bytes teams.Key activities include:Sales Execution:
Uncover, develop and drive net new or cross-sale opportunities; participate in customer meetings and create proposals to demonstrate Bytes services and solutions for the sub-proposition area.Sales Enablement:
Deliver solution-based and vendor enablement to support Bytes account managers in opening opportunities.Relationship Management:
Build and sustain strong relationships with Bytes and vendor sales teams to optimise execution and performance.Sales/Financial Performance Management:
Meet and exceed targets; maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities and forecasts in CRM.Marketing:
Contribute ideas to the marketing plan; act as a thought leader to raise Bytes’ external brand.Proposition Development:
Work with the vendor solutions team, sales, customers and partners to uncover commercial solutions and identify additional revenue streams aligned to strategic vendors.Key responsibilities
Maintain and develop knowledge in the aligned proposition; act as a subject matter expert.Understand the main proposition area and how to uncover opportunities for the wider team.Build strong relationships with Bytes Account Managers to ensure alignment of messaging and knowledge.Focus on net new and cross-sale opportunities; uncover opportunities via proactive whitespace, sales enablement, vendor engagement, and inbound requests.Maintain relationships with key customer contacts to ensure excellent service and increased wallet share.Develop a pipeline of Solutions and Services revenue across teams and vendors, targeting an opportunity level of 3x the target.Joint responsibility to keep CRM data up to date; ensure engagement data is accurate.Produce content and deliver sales enablement; contribute to inbound and outbound marketing efforts.Attend priority customer Quarterly Business Reviews and promote Bytes values in business development.Note: The description reflects core responsibilities but is not all-inclusive; duties may change as required by the business.Individual responsibilities
Customer Sales:
Attend and present at customer meetings in line with Bytes’ sales methodology; drive sub-proposition solutions and support wider proposition growth.Sales Relationships:
Develop relationships with Bytes account managers and sales managers to promote sub-proposition and main proposition area.Knowledge:
Maintain awareness of industry trends, vendor solutions and emerging technologies.Enablement:
Support various types of sales enablement for teams and management.Marketing:
Provide content and presentations for sales events, collateral, websites or social media.Financial Metrics:
Meet GP and KPI targets; provide accurate forecasting data to the Practice Lead.Personal Development:
Ensure a personal development plan with objectives and OKRs.Educational Qualifications
Minimum A-Levels (A-C) in English, Mathematics, and technology-related subject – DESIRABLEYears of Experience
Greater than two years of demonstrable sales experience within software or cyber technology industry – REQUIREDOther Requirements
Deep commercial and technology understanding across the Cyber Security and Networking market – REQUIREDHigh-level understanding of other IT areas (Modern Workplace, Public Cloud - Azure or AWS, Hybrid Infrastructure, FinOps, AI, Data Analytics, Automation, SAM or Service Management) – DESIRABLESeniority level
