Principal Civil Infrastructure EngineerLocation: WokingSalary: £50,000 – £60,000 (DOE)Start Date: October/November 2025Join a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy as a Principal Civil Engineer in their Woking office. With eight offices across the UK, this consultancy specialises in transportation, civil engineering, and environmental projects, and is currently expanding its civils team to support a growing pipeline of development work. You’ll become part of a close-knit team of 12 civil engineers in Woking, working collaboratively with colleagues across the company. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a variety of development planning projects, including residential, commercial, school schemes, and community parks.The Role
Your work will be (50/50) drainage and highways design. Key responsibilities include:Preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy reportsDesigning drainage and highway infrastructure to support S104, S38, and S278 applicationsUndertaking technical assessments for new developmentsProducing and reviewing designs using AutoCAD and Civils 3DSupporting junior staff by reviewing outputs, drawings, and reportsWriting technical reports and liaising with clients and project managers to coordinate project deliveryWhat We’re Looking For
A degree in Civil Engineering or a related disciplineA minimum of 5 years\'' experience in UK-based development infrastructure projectsStrong knowledge of relevant design standards (e.g. DMRB, Manual for Streets, Sewers for Adoption, national planning policy)Proven experience with S38, S278, and S104 design processesProficiency in MicroDrainage and/or Causeway Flow, along with AutoCAD and Civils 3DA full UK driving licence for site visitsWhat’s on Offer
