Are you an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer looking for your next career move, with a competitive salary, excellent overtime rates and no current call-out rota?

We are recruiting on behalf of an established commercial engineering business with over 25 years of industry experience, looking to appoint a Lead Commercial Gas Engineer to cover sites throughout the West Midlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Commercial Gas Engineer who takes pride in their work, can confidently diagnose and resolve faults, and is comfortable working independently across a range of commercial sites.

Commercial gas is the main focus of the role. Experience in oil, LPG or wider HVAC systems would be an advantage, but these are not essential.

The Role

You will carry out commercial gas engineering works across a diverse range of sites throughout the West Midlands, with responsibilities including:
  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial gas appliances, boilers and heating systems.
  • Carrying out fault-finding, diagnostics and repairs on commercial gas installations.
  • Undertaking relevant testing, safety checks and commissioning work.
  • Working across healthcare, education, industrial and other commercial environments.
  • Ensuring all work complies with current gas safety legislation and relevant industry standards.
  • Maintaining accurate service records and delivering a professional service to clients.
  • Managing your workload effectively while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and workmanship.
  • Undertaking occasional oil or LPG-related work where applicable.
About You

We are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong commercial gas background and the technical ability to work confidently across a varied commercial portfolio.

You will ideally have:
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer.
  • Relevant commercial gas qualifications and current ACS certifications appropriate to the work undertaken.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial gas servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and repairs.
  • Experience working across commercial, industrial or large-scale public sector sites.
  • The ability to work independently, troubleshoot technical issues and deliver effective solutions.
  • A professional approach, good communication skills and a commitment to safe working practices.
Additional Experience

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial, but is not essential:
  • Industrial gas appliances and commercial or industrial pipework.
  • LPG systems and associated equipment.
  • Oil-fired heating systems and OFTEC qualifications.
  • HVAC, air conditioning, ventilation or wider mechanical building services.
  • Commercial gas installation and commissioning.
If commercial gas is your core specialism, we want to hear from you. You do not need experience in every additional discipline to be considered for this position.

Salary & Benefits
  • £50,000+ basic salary, with flexibility for the right candidate.
  • Overtime paid at time and a half (1.5x).
  • Double time (2x) for bank holidays and weekends.
  • Company van and fuel card, with personal use permitted within agreed arrangements.
  • Door-to-door travel time paid one way.
  • 28 days' holiday.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Monday to Friday working hours, 8:00am–4:30pm.
  • No current call-out rota.
Why Apply?

You'll be joining a well-established business with more than 25 years of industry experience and a diverse portfolio of commercial and public sector clients.

The role offers a competitive basic salary, enhanced overtime opportunities, a company vehicle and a consistent Monday-to-Friday working pattern, without current call-out commitments.

The salary package is negotiable for the right person, making this a great opportunity for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer looking for a move that recognises their skills and experience.
