Graduate English Academic Coach September 2026 start, to July 2027 £90 - £111 per day, term time only ''Outstanding'' secondary school, Ward of Edgbaston Provide tailored support across KS3 and KS4 EnglishThe Role:You will work alongside the English department to raise attainment through targeted support, not vague "helping out". Your week will include 1:1 and small group sessions plus in-class support, focused on the skills pupils lose marks on most. You will support KS3 reading and writing foundations, then build that into KS4 GCSE-style responses with tight structure and clear routines. In KS3, you will strengthen reading accuracy, vocabulary, inference, and paragraphing, so pupils access the curriculum with fewer barriers. In KS4, you will help pupils plan, write, and improve under time conditions, using consistent routines: read, annotate, select evidence, explain, and refine. You will model strong answers, break tasks into small steps, and use quick checks to spot misconceptions early. You will track what you cover, record brief outcomes, and feed back to teachers so your sessions stay aligned to current class priorities and assessment points.
