Job Title: CNC Miller - Setter/Operator

Shift Pattern: Primarily Day Shift (Flexibility Required - Potential for Night Shift)

Our client, a well-established precision engineering company based in the Cambridge area, is currently seeking a skilled CNC Miller with strong setting and operating experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business known for its high-quality work and investment in the latest CNC technology.

As a CNC Miller, you will be responsible for setting and operating 5-axis CNC milling machines - primarily HAAS - to produce precision components to tight tolerances. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a flexible approach to working hours, as the role may evolve to include night shifts in the near future.

• Set and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines (mainly HAAS)

• Interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions

• Ensure all components are machined to meet quality and technical specifications

• Perform in-process inspection using measuring tools (e.g. verniers, micrometers, gauges)

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment

• Work collaboratively with the production team to meet targets and deadlines

• Proven experience in setting and operating CNC milling machines (5-axis experience preferred)

• Experience with HAAS controls is highly advantageous

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

• Basic understanding of CNC programming is beneficial but not essential

• Flexibility to work different shifts, including potential night shifts in the future

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• CNC programming experience (especially on HAAS controls or similar)

• Experience working in a precision engineering environment
