Supplier Quality Engineer

RheinmetallAs a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be required to perform all necessary quality related activities to ensure supplier quality such as analysing supplier performance data, perform periodic supplier visits where required, identifying opportunities for improvement and maintaining supplier quality throughout the delivery of a project. Assist our Quality inspectors investigating Production issues, liaising and if needed returning non-conforming components to our suppliers making sure a root cause analysis, containment and countermeasures have been implemented.Responsibilities

Develop, implement and maintain quality assurance protocols to ensure supplier compliance and product qualityProactively identify and pursue opportunities for improvement and waste reductionLead problem solving sessions with multidisciplinary teams across the organisationMonitor and maintain supplier performance metrics to ensure production continuity and qualityConduct regular supplier audits to assess their quality control processes and compliance to product requirementsDrive the development and implementation of preventative actionsDevelop and deliver training related to supplier quality to internal teamsInvestigate and formally report on high-profile supplier issuesMaintain supplier quality documentationSupport with the inspection of inbound and outbound goods when requiredMonitor organisational activates to ensure alignment with applicable statutory and regulatory legislationTravel to new and existing suppliers to assist the Quality Manager and/or Procurement Lead with supplier audits, first article inspections and non-conformance investigationsTechnical Skills

Proven experience in a role with quality-based responsibilitiesStrong understanding of technical data such as engineering drawings and wiring schematicsStrong understanding of principles and tools such as process mapping, statistical quality control, pareto, lean manufacturing, kaizen, 8D reporting and PPAPAbility to analyse quality data and metrics to identify areas of improvementFamiliarity with the ISO9001:2015 and ISO14001 standardsExperience in the manufacture of electromechanical assembliesMinimum 2 years’ experience auditing processes internally and or suppliersStrong PC and MS office skillsSoft Skills

Clear and professional communication skills to effectively convey technical findings to a range of internal and external stakeholdersAbility to work constructively with suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related challengesSelf-directed with a strong sense of ownership for delivering timely and accurate outcomesAnalytical mindset, able to approach complex quality problems with structured reasoning and appropriate methodologiesCapable of facilitating collaborative problem-solving sessions to drive root cause identification and sustainable corrective actionsAble to adapt communication and working style to suit varied contexts such as audits, investigations, or technical reviewsWhat We Offer You
