At British Gypsum we''re looking for a Mine Mechanical Fitter, to work in a small, focussed, multi-disciplinary team, at our Mine in East Leake. You''ll participate in delivering continuous improvement projects as well as maintaining all of the underground equipment. Your role will be critical in ensuring maintenance and availability targets are met, meaning an overall positive experience for our customers. This role operates a staggered 3 shift pattern, with a week of nights, week of afternoons and a week of days including Saturday and Sunday, followed by a rostered week off. What we''re looking for: You will have undertaken a recognised mechanical apprenticeship (or similar)Several years'' experience installing and maintaining equipment particularly conveyance/ continuous mining and material handling equipmentExperience of underground mining systems and associated Permits to Work would be an advantageExperience of working on heavy plant machineryComing from a mining background would be advantageous but not essentialWhat you will be doing: You will be accountable for your own and your colleagues'' health and safety, whilst ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest possible standard. You will be expected to have an analytical mind and be able to apply those skills to problem solving and decision making and be able to clearly communicate with others.
