Strategic Communications Officer

Role OverviewThe Strategic Communications Officer will report directly to the Strategic Communications Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for:
Responsibilities
Produce content from PDP and spokespersons for digital and other channels for internal and external audiences. In particular, create articles, press releases, briefing packs, email newsletters and slide decks.
Lead on the organisation of external speaking engagements, including preparing necessary materials and briefing PDP spokespeople.
Assist in the production of creative content, such as videos and graphics, including producing scripts and copy.
Be responsible for publishing content on PDP’s website issuing email newsletters to internal and external stakeholders, and supporting the creation of social media content.
Assist with editing and formatting documents on behalf of other PDP teams for internal and external stakeholders.
Support the Strategic Communications Lead in producing plans for PDP and MoneyHelper pensions dashboards communications.
Proactively identify and develop ideas and opportunities to promote PDP communications priorities to B2B audiences.
Support in other areas of the communications team as and when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
First class written communication skills across a range of channels and for different audiences, including website blog posts, presentations, briefing documents, social media posts, emails, by-lined articles and press releases.
Demonstrable experience of using digital communication strategies, tools and trends for messaging campaigns.
Knowledge of best practice for digital content and SEO.
Experience of tracking, reporting and analysing content performance.
Ability to demonstrate accountability, proactiveness and confidence when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience of managing and delivering to an editorial calendar.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet both specific and unexpected deadlines.
Resilience and ability to support rapid and robust responses to external comments or policy developments.
Excellent judgment and the confidence to proactively identity and assess risk.
An understanding of the pensions and financial services sector and relevant landscape would be beneficial.

Flexible WorkingAt MaPS, we take pride in our flexible approach to work. As standard, we work on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. Hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and our headquarters in Bedford will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business needs, but personal and other relevant circumstances will also be considered. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
