Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Supervising Social Worker for its client based in Lancashire.
An Independent Fostering Agency (IFA) in Lancashire is seeking a Supervising Social Worker (SSW) to join their fostering service. The role involves supervising foster carers, addressing safeguarding concerns raised by children''s social workers, and providing both emotional and practical support to foster families.
In addition, Supervising Social Workers play a vital role in recruiting foster carers, conducting assessments, and delivering training prior to child placements.

What will your responsibilities be?
- Maintaining Communication Supervising social workers ensure consistent communication among foster families, social workers, and the foster children. They conduct regular home visits, make phone calls, and keep all parties informed throughout the placement.
- Arranging Support Services They coordinate additional support for children, such as therapy or learning assistance, whenever necessary.
- Day-to-Day Assistance Supporting foster carers with meetings, report writing, and record-keeping is integral to their role. They also monitor each child''s progress in their placement and conduct required statutory visits.
- Facilitating Birth Family Connections Supervising social workers help manage and maintain contact between children and their birth families when appropriate, and support foster carers in handling the emotions tied to these interactions.
- Identifying Training Opportunities, they assess foster carers'' needs for further training, guiding them to enhance their skills, achieve personal goals, and meet high standards of care.
Qualifications & Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have,
- Social Work England registration
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Post-qualified experience
- Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
