Full Stack Software Developer

OverviewWe’re looking for a versatile and experienced
Full Stack Developer
to join our growing engineering team. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working across the stack and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will play a key role in building and maintaining scalable web applications that support our digital platforms and internal tools.
LocationLocation: Remote (from UK-based home address - please note that in-person attendance to final interview is required)
HoursHours: 08:00 to 16:30 (with 1 hr unpaid break for lunch)
ContractContract: Full-time, fixed term for 1 year (with possibility of extension depending on business need)
SalarySalary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (depends on experience)
Reporting toReporting to: Head of Engineering
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain robust full-stack applications using modern frameworks.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality features.
Write clean, testable, and efficient code using best practices.
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and agile ceremonies.
Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance issues, and production incidents.
Tech Stack
Frontend: React, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
Backend: Django
Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
Other: Figma, Agile/Scrum, GitHub Actions
RequirementsEssential
2+ years of experience in full-stack development
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React
Experience with Django and MySQL
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Desirable
Exposure to mobile development (React Native)
Background in edtech or education platforms
Familiarity with other backend frameworks or CMS platforms

Shortlisting and Interviews
Shortlisting: Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. If an application is of interest, a technical test (from TestGorilla) may be issued. A remote call will be arranged with applicants who successfully complete the test to discuss it and the role.
Interviews: Those who complete the test to the expected level will be invited to a remote call with the hiring lead; a face-to-face interview at our London Head Office (currently planned for w/c 1 September 2025).
