Social Worker - Secure Mental Health Services (Permanent)

Introduction

With previous experience from the NHS or private sector, you''ll join a multidisciplinary team with a strong emphasis on collaboration, providing care for men and women with complex mental health needs.

You''ll manage a complex caseload, be responsible for social care assessments, risk assessments, facilitate group activities, and contribute to CPA/ICR meetings, supporting service users to make viable plans for their future.

Reporting to the Safeguarding Lead, you''ll manage internal investigations and liaise with home authorities during admission and discharge processes. You''ll also have access to a range of training opportunities to support your career development and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct referrals to LADO and Local Authority in line with safeguarding and assessments

Educate staff on relevant safeguarding matters

Complete full annual social care reassessments within the CPA format

Facilitate access to welfare rights, housing, advocacy, and other support services

Participate in regular supervision

Requirements

Degree in Social Work (or equivalent)

Registration with Social Work England

Previous experience in a similar setting

Strong background in working with vulnerable adults

This hospital combines medium secure and low secure units with rehabilitation flats, providing a seamless internal care pathway that supports recovery and rehabilitation.

The team delivers personalised assessment and treatment programmes for males with mental illness, complex care needs, or personality disorder. Many service users have histories of offending and/or may have struggled in previous placements.
