Are you a vet with a passion for herd health and population medicine? Do you enjoy working with proactive clients who always want to drive their business forwards? If so a career in our independent pig practice could be for you. We cover a broad mixture of farms including single site family businesses and large national integrators, as well as providing the pig vet teaching to the University of Nottingham. We are looking for a highly motivated veterinary surgeon to be part of our team of 5 vets covering pig farms across the UK. Although we are spread out geographically, we are a close-knit group who meet fortnightly to discuss clinical matters. Obviously previous experience with commercial pigs would be a benefit but it is not essential. If you have worked in general production animal practice you will be amazed at how many of your existing skills are transferable to this more specialist area. What matters most to us is finding a new teammate who it is enjoyable to work alongside and willing to throw themselves into learning the ropes - a process through which they will be supported by the full team. We are looking for somebody who is, or can be, based in Yorkshire or the East Midlands. Our vets are provided with a company vehicle, and when not on farm, our vets complete paperwork from home. We are completely set-up to support vets working in this manner as it is the model we have always operated.
