About the Role
This global manufacturer seeks an experienced and highly motivated Mechanical Service Technician to take ownership of the maintenance, development, and operational readiness of specialist installation equipment used to support global project delivery.
This is a hands-on role responsible for planning, carrying out, and monitoring all maintenance activities associated with installation and ancillary equipment. The successful candidate will ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, compliant, calibrated, and available for deployment while driving continuous improvement through effective maintenance practices, operational feedback, and equipment development initiatives. You will work closely with engineering and project teams to support worldwide operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operation of the Installation Workshop and Maintenance Technician activities.
Plan and carry out routine, preventative, corrective, and emergency servicing of installation and ancillary equipment.
Ensure all equipment is maintained in a safe, reliable, compliant, calibrated, and operational condition.
Maintain comprehensive service history records and maintenance documentation through the maintenance system.
Monitor equipment performance and analyse fault trends, providing feedback on the effectiveness of maintenance strategies.
Collaborate with the Process Engineering & Maintenance Manager and Project Services team to review equipment requirements and maintenance priorities.
Request purchase orders and manage stock levels of spare parts and consumables to support maintenance activities.
Produce, review, and maintain maintenance procedures and servicing instructions for both existing and newly developed equipment.
Capture operational feedback from projects and Field Engineers, incorporating lessons learned into maintenance standards, training materials, and equipment improvements.
Support the development, modification, testing, and commissioning of new installation equipment and engineering solutions.
Interpret complex mechanical engineering drawings, including general assembly layouts, fits, and tolerances.
Ensure workshop activities comply with company quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Support global project delivery through occasional international travel and customer interaction.
Candidate Profile
Essential Requirements
Skilled Motor Mechanic or equivalent engineering qualification.
Minimum 10 years'' relevant maintenance and installation experience.
Previous Supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of small two-stroke and four-stroke engines.
Excellent mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Ability to interpret detailed engineering and assembly drawings.
PC literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally when required.
Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage effectively at all levels.
Self-motivated, methodical, and highly organised approach to work.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Professional and presentable manner when dealing with customers and stakeholders.

Desirable Requirements
Understanding of electronics and remote-control radio technology.
Experience using computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Experience supporting engineering development projects and equipment improvements.
Knowledge of calibration, compliance, and equipment certification requirements.
