Revenues Officer Council Tax / Revenues and BenefitsMon to Fri 9am to 5pm 3 to 6 month ongoing contract 27.39 p/hr umbrella About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Revenues Officer to join the council. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the accurate and efficient collection of council tax, business rates, and other revenues to support essential local services. You will be responsible for administering accounts, processing changes, and dealing with customer queries in a professional and timely manner. A strong sense of integrity, accuracy, and the ability to work independently are essential. Key Responsibilities:Maintain and update council tax and/or business rates accountsInvestigate and resolve billing discrepanciesProcess payments, refunds, and account amendmentsLiaise with residents, businesses, and external agencies to resolve queriesApply discounts, exemptions, and reliefs in line with legislationSupport recovery procedures for outstanding paymentsEnsure compliance with relevant legislation and internal proceduresAbout You: The successful candidate will have:Previous experience in a revenues, council tax, or housing benefits.Strong numerical and analytical skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage a high workload and meet deadlinesExperience working in a council or housing IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office and revenues systems (e.g. Civica, Northgate)PLEASE NOTE: All applications are ..... full job details .....
