Architectural Technician / Architectural Assistant
to join their team in West London on an initial 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Technician or Assistant to apply practical design and technical expertise across design and construction phases, supporting the delivery of high-end residential projects. You’ll be involved in the production of drawings, specifications, and construction packages, while collaborating closely with the design team, consultants, and contractors. This position will suit a detail-driven individual who takes pride in technical quality and enjoys working on bespoke design solutions.
Responsibilities
Preparing planning drawings for statutory approval
Producing and presenting technical 2D and 3D design solutions (AutoCAD + traditional methods)
Producing production information under guidance of the Project Architect and Directors
Liaising with consultants and manufacturers on product selection and construction detailing
Assisting with site inspections, snagging, and quality checks
Preparing construction packages and specifications (NBS Chorus)
Creating SketchUp and 3D visuals to support the design team
Supporting the development of bespoke details and layouts for space planning
RequirementsYou will bring at least 3 years’ experience in an architectural office with strong technical and detailing expertise. You’ll have excellent AutoCAD skills, an eye for detail, and a collaborative approach to supporting project delivery.
Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD (essential)
Strong ability to produce and interpret technical details
Understanding of Building Regulations
Experience with specifications (NBS)
Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team
Motivated, detail-orientated, and proactive
Experience with SketchUp and Photoshop desirable
Revit experience a plus (not essential)
This is a short-term contract opportunity with a respected luxury architectural practice, giving you the chance to work on bespoke, high-end residential schemes and expand your experience in a fast-paced, design-led environment.
