Base salary: £46406 pa to £54595 pa depending on skills and experience. Senior Platform Manager (Workplace) sits within the Platforms and Operations function and is responsible for HS2’s Infrastructure (compute, cloud, network) or Workplace Services (End user compute, digital workspace, meeting rooms).Oversees the delivery, maintenance and availability of critical infrastructure and supplier resources providing development and management services.Provide technical leadership to optimise the performance and outcomes of IT Infrastructure and Workplace Services.Lead and manage suppliers and resources delivering capability within IT Infrastructure and Workplace Services, ensuring SLAs, KPIs and targets are met.Ensure appropriate action is taken to anticipate, investigate, and resolve problems in systems and services, enabling development of solutions.Direct the definition of IT Infrastructure and Workplace Services objectives and processes with IT suppliers and resources.Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all work and support organisational initiatives on EDI.Responsibilities

Workplace Services Platform components, proactively managing services and balancing business objectives with financial and supplier performance.Oversee planning, installation, maintenance and acceptance of new and updated infrastructure and workplace components and services; align to service expectations, security requirements and quality standards.Support design and delivery of Infrastructure (compute, cloud, network) and Workplace Services (End user compute, digital workspace, meeting rooms), ensuring agreed support models and security requirements are met.Provide technical leadership to optimise performance and outcomes of IT Infrastructure and Workplace Services.Skills

Technology service management: ability to manage the provision of technology-based services to meet defined organisational needs.IT infrastructure: ability to lead deployment, configuration, and operation of IT infrastructure including cloud systems and networking.IT operations management: support the Operations team in ensuring successful delivery of infrastructure and workplace services.Supplier management: align HS2’s supplier performance objectives with sourcing strategies, balancing costs, efficiencies and service quality.Stakeholder relationship management: influence stakeholder attitudes, decisions and actions for mutual benefit.Knowledge

Knowledge of IT Infrastructure and EUC technology used in HS2 IT and the relevant industry.Knowledge of delivery methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile, lean) and how they can be integrated into IT initiative delivery.Knowledge of the technology service provider landscape and opportunities for collaboration and improvement.Knowledge of digital information technology trends and opportunities.Experience

Experience overseeing critical IT infrastructure in a similar environment to HS2.Experience managing an infrastructure delivery team to maintain expected service levels.Experience managing service delivery in a complex, multi-vendor environment.Experience collaborating with or managing suppliers and vendors in a multi-vendor environment.The post-holder is expected to behave in line with HS2 values of Safety, Leadership, Integrity and Respect.
