This is a deeply rewarding role where you''ll work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to provide highly individualised care and education to students with complex needs.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport pupils with PMLD in both group and 1:1 settingsAssist with personal care including feeding, and moving and handling (training provided)Use a range of communication methods including Makaton, PECS, and sensory approachesImplement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to their reviewCreate a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environmentWork collaboratively with families and outside agenciesRequirementsExperience working with children or young adults with complex needs (desirable but not essential)A calm, patient, and empathetic approachStrong communication and teamwork skillsA commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenWillingness to undertake relevant training, including manual handling and medical protocolsPlease apply now to be considered for the PMLD Teaching Assistant position in Lewisham.
