Clinical Healthcare Support Worker - Breast Care, Band 3

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Clinical Healthcare Support Worker to join our dynamic Breast Care Team.The Clinical Healthcare Support Worker will assist clinical team members under supervision to deliver high-quality, comprehensive nursing services to all patients and users of the breast centre. They will ensure patient care is maintained to a high standard in a clean and safe environment.The role involves supporting the operational day-to-day functions of the Breast department through non-clinical duties, facilitating high-quality service delivery. There will also be opportunities to work directly with patients and assist consultants during breast biopsies.The successful candidate will join our breast nursing team, working alongside experienced breast care nurses and an advanced nurse practitioner.We are looking for a motivated individual with a desire for development, enthusiasm, and flexibility. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team are essential.Core working hours are Monday to Friday, 23.5 hours per week, with shifts including three 08:00-13:30 shifts and one 08:30-17:30 shift. Flexibility is required as working days may change based on the consultant''s timetable.Key responsibilities include:Assisting in the smooth running of symptomatic clinics, breast screening, and result clinics.Chaperoning and facilitating patient movement around the breast centre.Completing clinics with accurate notes and paperwork, and ensuring clinic rooms are stocked and tidy.Previous care experience is not essential. Basic IT skills (Word, Outlook) are required, along with a willingness to learn. Good communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to reassure and communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and team members including consultants, ANPs, radiologists, imaging assistants, reception staff, and nursing staff.We pride ourselves on placing people at the centre of our work, fostering teamwork, growth, and development.
