An exciting opportunity has arisen for a
Geo-Environmental Engineer
to join a well-established consultancy. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Cambridge, offering the chance to work on a wide variety of projects across sectors such as energy infrastructure, renewable energy, regeneration, and local authority development. The position is ideal for someone with a proactive approach, a keen eye for detail, and a willingness to take on site-based work alongside experienced professionals.Responsibilities
Undertake Preliminary Risk Assessments (Phase 1 Desk Studies) and intrusive site investigations in line with national standards.Manage and supervise site activities including drilling, excavation, monitoring, and sampling of gas, groundwater, and surface water.Plan and coordinate project activities, liaising with subcontractors and suppliers, and preparing SHEQ documentation.Schedule samples for chemical and geotechnical laboratory testing.Interpret data and produce factual and interpretative reports.Support tender preparation and fee proposals.Requirements
BSc (or higher) in Geology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related subject.2-3 years\'' relevant experience in geo-environmental or geotechnical roles.Strong report writing and communication skills.Ability to manage workloads independently and as part of a team.Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.Willingness to spend significant time on site, sometimes away from home.Full UK driving licence required.Rock core logging experience is desirable but not essential.Commitment to professional development with current or aspiring professional membership.Salary and Benefits
