We offer local knowledge on a global scale.The Database Architect/Administrator will be responsible for constantly monitoring our databases and immediately addressing database issues and problems. The successful candidate will also submit reports to management that outline the changing data needs of the company and come up with related solutions.Work closely with our software and application development teams to recommend database structures based on the data storage and retrieval needs within each department.Database estate administration and monitoringDatabase performance tuning including TSQL / Procedural performance tuning (Optimizer and Index usage)Database design and architecture, development and administrationSetting up best practice database development and acting as a database quality authority and stage gate for promotion of database code to productionTraining development team as to best practice database development standardsImplementation of source control and change control of Database and Middleware systemsKeeping database systems up-to-date with the latest service packs and security updatesTroubleshooting issues with both databases and third party applicationsKey player in the migration of database systems to AzureBuilding and migration of SQL servers to appropriate versionsEnsure database systems (Dev / Test / UAT / Live) are kept at the appropriate versions and configurationManaging database security and integrityManaging MiddlewareProvide insight into the changing database storage and utilization requirements for the company and offer suggestions for solutionsQuality control for SQL objects and queries produced by peninsulas software development teamsResponsible for middleware design, monitoring and maintenanceDevelopment of data flow diagrams (current and future state)Perform analytical testing and investigative workExperience as an escalation point for database issues and provide out of hours cover and be part of release processExperience as a Database Architect /AdministratorRelational Database DesignDatabase Application DevelopmentMicrosoft - SQL Server / Transact SQL Server /Data Warehousing and ReportingDatabase performance tuningDegree in Computer Science / Information Systems Design or equivalentKnowledge of Fuel oil and the Bunker Industry desirableEmployment type
