Overview

The Medical Device Service supports users of medical equipment across all hospital sites within the Northern Care Alliance. You will play a key role in supporting the department''s responsibility for the maintenance, repair and sub-contractor management of medical equipment, including first line support to users to optimise system uptime and maximise the use of medical equipment.Responsibilities

Provide first line support to users of medical equipment and optimise uptime to maximise device availability across all hospital sites within the Northern Care Alliance.Support the department''s responsibilities for maintenance, repair and sub-contractor management of medical equipment.Provide specialist technical knowledge for the implementation and delivery of a long-term operational plan for cost effective and efficient management and deployment of safe medical devices across the care organisations.Work towards achieving compliance levels for medical device repair and maintenance, including downtime, and ensure that systems enable clinical teams to have insight into progress with maintenance and repair of their devices.Assist with sub-contractor management and coordination of maintenance activities as required.Note that a full UK driving licence is required for this post.Qualifications

Ideally, a minimum of HNC in Mechanical or Operations, or Mechatronics engineering, and relevant experience since qualifying in the field of medical equipment.Knowledge in the application and repair of a wide range of medical equipment used in a hospital and community is essential, with some specific training provided.Consideration may be given to applicants with reduced knowledge and skills who follow a personnel development programme at a reduced grade.Full UK Driving Licence is required.About the organisation
