Great career opportunity for an experienced mechanical Application / Design Engineer to join a global precision engineering / manufacturing business in South Nottingham. The role of Application Engineer will see you providing technical assistance to external customers and internal depts such as sales, manufacturing and quality on product changes and improvements. You may also visit customer sites occasionally when required. This is a hybrid role with a 50/50% office to home policy (Tues and Wed are set office days), the rest can be flexed. Experience with Polymers, Plastics and Elastomer design / manufacturing would be highly advantageous. Generate and approve design proposals with customer requirements. Conduct moderately complex design analysis on components and/or assemblies that may extend current product/material/manufacturing capabilities. Assure product quality by defining testing/qualification/validation methods aligned with application requirements. Maintain awareness of customer and industry technical requirements, and basic business acumen regarding the business impact of technical decisions.
