An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join a well-respected specialist school in Aylesbury this September. This full-time, position is perfect for someone passionate about supporting students with autism and related needs, including speech, language, sensory, and behavioural challenges.
You will work within a calm, structured setting featuring small class sizes and excellent staff-to-student ratios. The school embraces a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, delivering personalised learning pathways designed to help every pupil succeed.

About the Role:
- Plan and deliver personalised lessons for students with complex needs, with a primary focus on autism
- Utilise structured routines and visual aids to enhance communication and support learning
- Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to ensure consistent, holistic support
- Monitor and record student progress in alignment with EHCP objectives and individual learning targets
- Apply evidence-based approaches to promote emotional regulation and develop student independence
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment where all learners can thrive
- Actively participate in continuing professional development (CPD) and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the school
The ideal candidate will:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS), or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Demonstrated experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), preferably within specialist educational settings
- In-depth understanding of autism spectrum conditions and related developmental needs
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching and behaviour management
- Strong communication abilities and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and families
- Possession of an Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
