An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the James Cook Cancer Institute and Speciality Medicine within our Oncology Directorate. This is a new role in the Chemotherapy Outpatient Department, providing clinical support to the team, especially at the Cancer Institute Assessment Bay (CIAB).The Outpatient and CIAB department offer oncology clinics and an emergency treatment area for oncology patients. The role involves patient care supervised by a registered professional.Applicants do not need prior oncology experience, but it is advantageous. A keen interest in delivering compassionate, high-quality, and personalized care is essential. Support, supervision, training, and learning opportunities will be provided.The post holder will be an active member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), undertaking personal care activities and delegated clinical duties, including clinical observations, within defined parameters, to support patient needs.They have a personal responsibility to comply with all Trust policies, promote dignity, privacy, and respect, and deliver safe, compassionate care. Reliability, trustworthiness, and adherence to the Trust’s values and code of conduct are expected.Depending on qualifications and experience, posts are at band 2 or band 3:Band 2 : Willing to undertake relevant training and qualifications for progression to band 3.Band 3 : Requires Level 2 numeracy and literacy or equivalent, Care certificate, Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent knowledge/experience, including clinical procedures, observations, legislation knowledge, and leadership and improvement training.South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training, including sessions like "Your Leadership Impact" and "Service Improvement for Beginners," with additional courses available.
