We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Highways Engineer to join our clients growing infrastructure team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to lead the design and delivery of a diverse range of highways and transportation projects across the Midlands and wider UK. As a Senior Highways Engineer, you will play a key role in managing projects from concept through to construction, providing technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and working closely with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities Lead the design and delivery of highway infrastructure projects. Prepare and review highway designs, technical reports, specifications, and drawings. Manage projects to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Provide technical expertise in highways engineering, including highways geometry, junction design, drainage coordination, and road safety considerations. Liaise with clients, local authorities, contractors, and stakeholders. Mentor and support graduate and junior engineers. Undertake design reviews and ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation. Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing and client engagement.
