As a Senior Database Engineer, you will be at the forefront of building a leading and innovative platform that underpins the investment teams. You will act as a coach, contribute directly while also developing junior members, and work on cutting-edge platforms, automation tools and several projects.The ideal candidate will have essential expertise in databases such as SQL Server, Snowflake and Redshift. Design, implement, and manage database solutions across a variety of platforms, including SQL Server, Snowflake, MongoDB, and RedshiftDevelop the consolidated core build-out for all database installationsLead projects to identify and consolidate duplication across data storesContribute to the development and enforcement of best practices, ensuring consistency in database management processesDevelop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline database operations and processesLeverage open-source tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana) to manage, monitor, and optimize database performanceImplement and manage database security measures, including access controls and encryptionConduct regular database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and performance tuningMonitor database systems to identify and resolve issues proactivelyEssential Skills

A minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise database platformsEssential knowledge of SQL Server, Snowflake and RedshiftProficiency with Transact-SQL, and the ability to write, debug, and maintain scripts, stored procedures, functions, and viewsProficient in Python and Unix shell scripting (preferable)Experience running applications and databases in containers (Docker, Kubernetes)Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with, and inspire, a wide cross section of investment professionalsFluency in EnglishDesirable Skills
