Connect2Dudley is seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic.The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems and be able to diagnose and repair a variety of vehicles and machinery. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.ResponsibilitiesTo inspect, service and repair the Councils fleet vehiclesGround maintenance equipment to include specialist body /equipment workCarry out of periodic routine roadworthiness inspections to legal requirements and standards laid down by the Driver and vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and Dudley MBC requirements including those necessary to pass MOT tests and maintain the councils Operators Compliance Score as green.Where vehicles are found to be unfit during routine/ planned inspections or spot checks, notify the Fleet Compliance Officer/Fleet Co-ordinator of the condition of vehicles and, when necessary, withdraw them from service.To liaise and advise Hackney Carriage, Private Hire and Special Event vehicle operators of defects and where such vehicles fail to meet the Authorities licensing standards withhold issue of the Licence Plate.To provide supporting technical vehicle information to Licensing Services and the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Trade Associations.To liaise with Transport Services, Licensing staff re: the inspection and testing of vehicles, and liaise with customers in association with the vehicle ..... full job details .....
