Are you an experienced MEICA Design Manager with a strong background in water industry projects, particularly sewage treatment works, seeking a pivotal permanent role? NES Fircroft has been exclusively retained by a market leader who is looking for a skilled professional to own the end-to-end design process, ensuring compliance, constructability, and operational efficiency.As the MEICA Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing design consultants, ensuring the detailed design aligns with project programmes and client contracts. You''ll play a crucial role in collaborating with internal and external teams to deliver high-quality, cost-controlled designs that are fit for purpose.Responsibilities

Managing design consultants to achieve detailed designs that comply with programme and client contracts, owning the end-to-end design process, and proactively monitoring design growth for efficiencies.Developing designs with constructability in mind, engaging with operations and delivery teams for feedback to ensure fitness for purpose and cost control, and focusing on final plant operation.Preparing and chairing progress meetings with clients and consultants, collaborating to gain timely design approval, and reviewing specifications and managing subcontractors for design progress.Providing technical supervision, support, and guidance, checking drawings and specifications for accuracy, and ensuring designs align with plant functionality, safety, and guarantee compliance.Leading and monitoring cost control activities, managing contractual risks, negotiating agreements with subcontractors and clients, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams for practical, cost-effective solutions.To be successful in this MEICA Design Manager position, you will need a robust background in engineering design and on-site construction coordination within the water industry. We are looking for candidates with:A qualification in a relevant mechanical, process, or electrical discipline, with essential experience in water industry projects, particularly sewage treatment works.Proven experience delivering design for TWUL Capital Projects under the Capital Delivery Stage Gate Process (Stages 3-5) and handing over sewage treatment plants from a design perspective.Previous experience in designing for specifications performance compliance and delivering designs for sewage treatment plant upgrades.A strong background in engineering design and on-site construction coordination, with demonstrated ability in cost control, budget tracking, and RFQ processes.Experience in client-facing roles, including negotiation and technical discussions.If you are a highly motivated and experienced MEICA Design Manager ready to drive design excellence in challenging water industry projects, we encourage you to apply.Seniority level
