Speech and Language Teaching AssistantLocation: ThurrockStart date: ASAPContract: For the remainder of the academic year (with potential to extend) Our client, a Thurrock-based primary school is seeking a Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to play a key role in supporting pupils whose communication needs impact their learning and wellbeing. The position is available immediately and will run for the remainder of the school year as a minimum. The school is looking for someone who values progress over pace and wants to be part of a team that puts communication at the centre of inclusion. Role responsibilities include: Providing targeted speech and language support on a 1:1 and small-group basis Delivering speech and language programmes under the guidance of the SENCo Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and develop effective communication skills Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals Contributing to a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment The ideal candidate will: Have experience supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs (school-based experience preferred) Be patient, empathetic, and committed to inclusive education Communicate effectively with pupils and staff Be reliable, proactive f you are looking for a rewarding role where no two days are the same and your work truly matters, we would love to hear from you.
