About the Role - Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Gloucester

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils'' learning and development across the school. You will work collaboratively with teaching staff to deliver engaging lessons, provide targeted interventions, and help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

The role may also involve leading small group sessions, covering lessons in the absence of the teacher, and supporting pupils with additional learning needs to ensure all learners can access the curriculum effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting teaching and learning across the classroom
• Delivering planned lessons and activities when required
• Leading small group interventions and 1:1 support sessions
• Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
• Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and participation
• Supporting pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs
• Helping to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Collaborating closely with teachers and wider school staff

The Ideal Candidate:

• Positive, proactive, and adaptable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience working within a school environment
• Ability to confidently support learning independently when required
• Passionate about supporting young people and education
• Able to build positive relationships quickly with pupils and staff
• HLTA qualification or relevant classroom experience (desirable)
• Background in education, care, youth work, or similar (beneficial)

This role would suit experienced Teaching Assistants, Higher Level Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, or individuals looking to further develop their career within education.
