We are seeking a committed Teacher of Psychology to join a well-established secondary school in Havering, East London. This is a permanent, full-time post for a teacher with strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach Psychology at KS5 within a stable and supportive sixth form environment.
The school is a mixed comprehensive school for pupils aged 11 to 16, with a growing interest in post-16 study through its wider provision and local partnerships. It is a school with clear routines, a calm working environment and a straightforward approach to teaching and learning. Staff are supported by sensible systems, and the department benefits from a collaborative culture.
This role would suit an experienced Psychology teacher or a strong subject specialist looking to teach A Level Psychology in a school where expectations are clear and workload is managed realistically.
The role
You will be teaching Psychology at KS5, with responsibility for:
- planning and delivering engaging A Level Psychology lessons
- supporting students to make strong progress in theory, research methods and assessment
- preparing students for success in examinations and extended written responses
- using clear routines, assessment and feedback to support progress
- contributing to curriculum planning and departmental consistency
- working closely with colleagues to maintain high standards
There may be some wider contribution to related social science or humanities provision depending on experience and timetable needs.

- holds QTS
- has experience teaching Psychology, ideally at A Level
- has strong subject knowledge and secure understanding of the specification
- can teach confidently and clearly to sixth form students
- values structure, calm routines and academic rigour
- works well with colleagues and contributes positively to a department
- can support students with different levels of prior attainment
