Senior Transport Service Coordinator
Salary: -36,000 - -38,000 + Annual Performance Bonus (up to 17.5%) + Excellent Benefits
Location: Avonmouth, Bristol (BS11 Area)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (40 hours per week), plus rota-based Saturdays and Bank Holidays (paid in addition)
About the Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading organisation within the environmental services and logistics sector, for an experienced Senior Transport Service Coordinator to join their operations team in Avonmouth.
This is an excellent opportunity for a transport or logistics professional looking to take the next step into a senior coordination role with responsibility for service delivery, driver management, operational compliance, and customer engagement.
The Role
As a Senior Transport Service Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day delivery of transport services. Working closely with drivers, customers, and operational teams, you will be responsible for coordinating workloads, managing route allocation, and supporting high standards of service delivery and compliance.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee the daily delivery of transport services and allocate work across vehicles and routes.

Maintain regular communication with drivers, customers, and key stakeholders.

Monitor operational performance and provide service updates where required.

Conduct driver debriefs and ensure all operational issues are recorded and addressed.

Provide direct support and guidance to drivers throughout their shifts.

Escalate safety concerns and support a strong health and safety culture.

Assist with transport compliance activities, including Working Time Directive (WTD) and operator licence requirements.

Support operational management in delivering efficient and compliant transport services.

Act as a direct line manager for drivers and service coordination staff.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience

Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.

Proven ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload in a fast-paced environment.

Full UK Driving Licence.

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

Ability to lead and motivate operational teams.
Desirable Skills & Experience
-
Knowledge of transport compliance, Working Time Directive (WTD), and operator licence regulations.

Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.

Experience within transport, logistics, waste management, fleet operations, or a related industry.

Strong IT skills and the ability to learn new operating systems and business applications.
