Junior Controls Engineer

Orion is working with a market leading company, a leading designer and manufacturer of machinery, that are currently seeking a Junior Controls Engineer. Established over 25 years ago, they supply cutting-edge solutions to a global customer base across multiple industries.

About the Junior Controls Engineer Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Junior Controls Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team. The role involves working on full-scale projects rather than maintenance or small-scale modifications. You will be responsible for control system design, programming, and implementation, with involvement in the entire project lifecycle, from concept to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities of the Junior Controls Engineer:

• Designing and programming PLC control systems (preferably Allen Bradley or Siemens, but other PLC experience is acceptable).
• Working with electrical schematics, ideally using E-Plan, though other electrical CAD packages are considered.
• Involvement in electrical installations and system integration.
• Conducting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
• Supporting system commissioning and troubleshooting.

Requirements for the Junior Controls Engineer:

• 1-3 years of experience in a control engineering role.
• Knowledge of PLC programming and electrical schematics.
• Prior experience using Electrical Design Software e.g Eplan or AutoCAD Electrical.
• Previous experience working on full project lifecycles rather than maintenance or minor modifications.
