The ideal candidate will come from a tool room machining background and should be able to work on their own initiative, be a time served engineer with a mechanical/tool room bias. You will have served a minimum of a full apprenticeship in a production environment. Competent operating a range of metal removal equipment including conventional and CNC milling machines (HAAS), lathes, surface grinders and drills. Bench fitting. Knowledge and experience using micrometers, depth micrometers and gauges. CNC setting and programming. Writing CNC milling programmes. Applying 5S, SMED and lean principles.
