We are pleased to announce a further opportunity to take up a Project Management Quest apprenticeship. These apprenticeships are for internal GWR colleagues, and give learners the opportunity to gain new skills, knowledge and behaviours which can be put into practice in the workplace and are a great development opportunity. Study is mainly online through our education partner Exeter College. There is no change to your terms and conditions, and you study alongside your current role.Start dates

Start dates will be available in September and January.Who is the apprenticeship suitable for?

This apprenticeship is aimed at colleagues who currently undertake project work and want to improve their approach. You will need to be working towards and achieve the following job role requirements before End Point Assessment:Planning and defining scope of projectsActivity planning and sequencingResource planningDeveloping schedulesTime estimatingCost estimatingDeveloping a budgetWhat does the apprenticeship involve?

You will develop planning, organisation, leadership, management and communication skills. Topics covered include:Project governanceProject stakeholder managementProject communicationProject leadershipBusiness case and benefits managementBudgeting and cost controlProject scheduleProject scopeProject risk and issue managementResource managementContract management and procurementProject quality and project contextWhat\''s in it for me?

You\''ll work towards the IfATE Associate Project Manager Level 4 apprenticeship. There is the opportunity for colleagues to become student members of the Association for Project Management (APM) as the first step of professional membership. Further professional APM membership can be achieved based on professional and personal aspiration.Our delivery partner

The 18 – 24 month programme will be delivered by Ofsted Outstanding Exeter College, through a hybrid approach with face to face and online sessions. Tutors from Exeter College will support you throughout your programme and prepare you for the End Point Assessment. You\''ll also be assigned a GWR mentor.Apprentices without Level 2 English and mathematics will be supported to complete functional skills qualifications during the apprenticeship. Exeter College tutors have a strong track record of success working with apprentices on these programmes and will devise a learning plan to suit individual needs to achieve. Additional release from duty will be required for this.Application process
