We are seeking a suitably qualified candidate for this exciting opportunity as a Bathymetry Technical Lead working for a world leading centre for hydrography and bathymetry. The organisation works with a wide range of data suppliers and partners to support maritime navigation, safety, security and marine development around the UK and worldwide. Bathymetry Technical Lead - Role Overview The role is a hybrid role working 2-3 days a week in the office and the remaining days home based. To provide advice and make key decisions on the collection and handling of bathymetric data. To initiate and deliver the development of hydrographic survey and bathymetry expertise within the centre. To support research and innovation, including writing policy and procedures. To support survey activities both internally and in the field Be the subject matter expert for bathymetric data acquisition, processing and data-basing, seeking continuous improvement of deliverables and processing procedures. Liaise with equipment/software manufacturers and survey contractors on the best formats, systems, and practices. Ensure use of bathymetric data and technology aligns with current best available practice. Develop, coach and mentor Bathymetry staff in development posts and those with survey experience/qualifications.
