This role ensures the accuracy, availability, and optimal organization of inventory through cycle counts, discrepancy investigations, stock movements, and space optimization. The Stock Control plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the store’s stock and back-of-house functions, in line with company policies, procedures, and KPIs.This position requires a proactive, solutions-focused attitude, with strong attention to details to drive efficiency and accuracy.Our culture is based on inclusivity; we embrace diversity. Whoever you are, Harvey Nichols has a place for you. As the Stock Controller, you will work 37.5 a week in our flagship store.Responsibilities
Staying close to the team on the shop floor, being aware of what is happening.Ensure that the behaviour is aligned with the standards required by the Group.Provide high quality relevant feedback to the Line Manager.Support the on-boarding of new team members ensuring they receive sufficient information about store operations policies and guidelines.Encourage the exchange of knowledge within the team.Support development and implementation of store strategy to reduce stock loss and stock inaccuracy.Responsible for organising and conducting the Cycle Count, ensuring all the results are communicated correctly after investigation to Senior Stock Control, Sales Managers, Stock Manager and Operations Manager.Submit requests for stock adjustment and provide investigation outcome to ensure any stock adjustment request is genuine by investigating root cause.Work closely with Sales Managers (SMs) to manage ad hoc adjustments to the Cycle Count calendar.Monitor and report any brands not on display and coordinate the return to warehouse process as needed to optimize stockroom space.Support Stock Movement Team overseeing and tracking the movement of non-sellable “On Approval” products, ensuring timely follow-up actions in line with Store Operations Manager reports.Ensure prompt investigation of negatives.Conduct on daily basis checks of ‘On Approval’ product against system negatives.Ensure prompt investigation of unreceipted deliveries.Monitor the DUMP code on a weekly basis and ensure any instances are corrected within 48 hours by cooperating with Sales Managers SMs and Team Managers TMs.Control any bounce back delivery to ensure stock accuracy.Support the preparation of markdown and the transition after markdown period.Support Senior Stock Control with the activities related to stock take to achieve results in line with company expectations in terms of accuracy and loss.Provide support with the day-to-day management of goods receipt (quality check, tags check, discrepancy check, same day upload), storage and movement of goods are managed responsibly and in line with company guidelines when support is required.Support to monitor daily deliveries and promptly report any discrepancies, ensuring to monitor the discrepancy tracker when support is required.Develop and maintain strong knowledge of basic operational tools:MerretStock in ProgressStock EnquiryRe-ticketingConsignment / IBT / PORequirements
