Data Analyst - United Kingdom (London)

Overview
API is seeking a highly agile and analytically gifted Data and Business Analyst to join our Client Insights and Strategy team. This individual will extract, analyze, and synthesize data to deliver strategic insights and client-facing presentations. You’ll support executive decisions, product evolution, and operational improvements by leveraging data storytelling, advanced Excel modeling, and AI tools.Responsibilities
Extract data from internal systems and external sources to support business analysisDevelop advanced dashboards and client-facing reports in Excel and PowerPointAutomate recurring reports using queries and scripts (SQL or equivalent)Apply AI tools to enhance insights and identify emerging trendsDeliver executive-level presentations with storytelling and impactSupport client delivery teams with business intelligence and operational diagnosticsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to drive customer outcomesInterpret data and analyze results using statistical techniquesAnalyze airline spending and create risk assessment plans utilizing Smith Travel Research market reports, market trends and conditions. Develop reporting for tracking key market changesAcquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain internal databases/data systemsIdentify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data setsFilter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problemsImplement improvements to the overall client delivery’s processes to best serve our clientsQualifications
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint (data modeling, dynamic dashboards, visuals)Strong analytical and critical thinking skillsStrong knowledge of reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)Solid business acumen and ability to synthesize insights from multiple data sourcesProficiency in using AI tools to support decision-makingStrong communication and storytelling capabilitiesAbility to build macros in Excel and organize data in AccessKnowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.)Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracyGreat attention to detailAbility to collaborate effectively and work as part of a teamAbility to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced corporate environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsImpeccable integrity and a strong work ethicPosition Type and Hours
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, normal core business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.Required Education and Experience
