First Task Professional are working with a leading, national specialist subcontractor to recruit a freelance Quantity Surveyor on a major project in Cardiff City. This contract is for an initial 5 months, but there are other projects coming online, should the successful candidate be happy to travel. Expectation from client is to be based on site 3 days a week, home/office 2 days. Key Responsibilities Cost management and commercial control across live project Preparation, assessment, and agreement of interim applications and valuations Managing variations, change control, and any compensation events Supporting procurement activities and subcontract management Assisting with forecasting, cost reporting, and cash flow management Preparation and negotiation of final accounts Ensuring compliance with contract terms, procedures, and internal governance Working collaboratively with delivery teams Requirements Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within large subcontracting or main contracting environment.
