Principal Engineer SheffieldAn established, multi-disciplinary engineering Consultancy is seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer to support Associates in the planning, organisation and delivery of complex structural engineering projects. The role sits within a dynamic and technically strong Structural Engineering team and offers a clear long-term career path, with progression assured for the right individual who demonstrates both technical excellence and leadership capability.The successful candidate will take responsibility for the preparation, review and approval of structural engineering designs, calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports across a broad range of projects. These projects typically span residential, commercial, education, healthcare, transport and infrastructure sectors and frequently involve refurbishment, adaptation and new-build works. The role requires regular liaison with external professionals, contractors and clients, as well as representing the Consultancy at meetings, in written correspondence and during site visits for surveys, inspections and technical assessments.You will play a key role in controlling the programmed performance of projects, ensuring delivery within agreed resource, budgetary and time constraints while maintaining a consistently high technical standard.
