Our OEM Client based in Whitley, Coventry, is searching for a Design Services Specialist Engineer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a 12-month contract position initially until 31st March 2026, with the potential for further extensions.Umbrella Pay Rate: £30.24 per hour.Design proposals for EDU (electric drive unit) development: Package assessments on concept proposalsConcept development to ensure credibility of proposal.Investigation of potential incremental improvements for consideration in future developments or upgrades. On-cycle issue resolution: Supporting cross functional teams to generate potential design solutions to be considered by the DandR and integration squads.Helping to Identify design optimisation opportunities for implementation at later design freezes. Assembly management and drawing creation: Management of 3D assemblies.Creation of detailed component and assembly drawings for manufacture. Standards, processes and tool development: Full utilisation of current automotive OEM toolset.Help to identify standards, processes and tools to develop.Ensure alignment with JLR standards and best practises.Highlighting potential weaknesses and opportunities. Skills Required:Essential: Experience of 3D modelling tools and techniques, preferably in CATIA V6Working knowledge of GDandT and general draftingKnowledge in delivering innovative design solutions.Experience in project management and issue resolution.Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred. ..... full job details .....
