Principal / Senior Building Control Surveyor (RBI)
London Borough | Hybrid Working | 3-6 Month Contract
We are seeking an experienced Registered Building Inspector to join a busy and forward-thinking Building Control team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial, public sector and regeneration projects while supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality development throughout the Borough.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess Building Regulation applications and technical submissions.
* Undertake site inspections across a range of developments.
* Provide practical and proportionate technical advice to applicants, developers and contractors.
* Support and mentor junior officers where appropriate.
* Manage a varied caseload and contribute to continuous service improvement.
* Work collaboratively with Planning, Housing and Highways teams.
Essential Requirements
* Registered Building Inspector (RBI).
* Class 2A, 2B, 2D or above.
* Experience undertaking Building Control inspections and assessments.
* Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and associated legislation.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
* Class 2E, 2F or higher.
* Local Authority Building Control experience.
* Membership of CABE, CIOB, RICS or equivalent professional body.
* Experience working on complex or higher-risk developments.
