Senior / Principal Ecologist You will take ownership of ecology inputs across varied projects and see your judgement shape outcomes from early assessment through delivery. This role offers clear responsibility, breadth of work and space to progress without unnecessary layers. What you will needStrong experience within ecological consultancySound working knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and guidanceAbility to lead ecological inputs within multidisciplinary project teamsConfidence managing projects and reviewing technical outputs Salary and rewards £50,000 to £65,000. What you will be doingLead ecological assessment and habitat design work across development and infrastructure related schemesCoordinate surveys, reporting and mitigation from early stage through to deliveryAct as ecology lead on projects, managing scope, quality and programmeWork closely with planners, engineers and other specialists to embed ecology earlySupport work winning activity and maintain effective client relationships Skills and backgroundConsultancy experience delivering Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments and Biodiversity Net Gain assessmentsStrong report writing and quality assurance capabilityProven botanical skills, ideally supported by Field Identification Skills Certificate experience or equivalentExperience with protected species surveying, mitigation and licensingMembership of a recognised professional body in ecology or environmental managementFull driving ..... full job details .....
