A leading UK-based retailer is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams across its shop and contact centre platforms. This is a critical role for someone passionate about driving technical delivery, enabling cross-team collaboration, and modernising enterprise systems at scale. This role is remote with occasional office visits.You''ll work closely with product, architecture, and delivery leads to shape the future of omnichannel retail technologyensuring teams build secure, scalable, and maintainable systems that enhance customer and colleague experience.Key Responsibilities:Lead multiple development teams delivering core retail and contact centre solutionsEnable modernisation and reduce legacy dependency through technical leadershipAlign development practices with Agile, Continuous Delivery, and DevOps principlesGuide teams through complex delivery cycles in hybrid delivery environmentsDrive collaboration across engineering, product, infrastructure, and architectureRequired Skills and Experience:Strong track record of leading software development teams in enterprise environmentsDeep understanding of modern architecture patterns (e.g. microservices, event-based systems)Experience overseeing large-scale transformation and system modernisation initiativesConfident managing hybrid teams (onshore/offshore) and engaging with senior stakeholdersFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and Agile delivery frameworksExperience in retail, e-commerce, or contact centre platformsBackground in hands-on software engineeringKnowledge of packaged solutions and system integrationsExposure to Lean, DevOps, or Systems Thinking principlesPlease note: You must be UK-based with full right to work to be considered.Ready to lead impactful engineering teams in one of the UKs top retail organisations?Apply now to take the next step in your leadership career.Seniority level
