Director of People and Change

We re recruiting a Director of People and Change for a public sector client on a 12-month Inside IR35 contract, paying market rates. The role is hybrid, with 2 3 days a week on-site in London, Cardiff, Croydon, Sale, Birmingham or Wakefield. Key Responsibilities Lead a strategic HR function covering LandD, ER, talent, wellbeing, HandS, payroll, and EDI. Drive large-scale change programmes, including workforce design and cultural transformation. Build inclusive policies, support organisational development, and enhance employee experience. Act as a senior people advisor, engaging confidently with executive stakeholders and trade unions. Essential Skills Senior HR leadership in public sector or large complex environments. Strong transformation, ER, and trade union experience. Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills. CIPD Level 7 qualified. BPSS clearance (or willing to undergo).
