SEN Teaching Assistant / Outdoor Learning Tutor – Waltham Forest

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join the Learning Support and Enrichment department of a mainstream primary school in Waltham Forest.
This is a full-time, term-time only position within the school’s Alternative Provision, starting in September 2026. Prior to the start date, the school would ideally like the successful candidate to provide a few tutoring hours per week until the end of the academic year.
The role will focus on outdoor and project-based tuition for a high-needs SEMH pupil with ADHD.
The successful candidate will support pupils within a newly established Specialist Resourced Provision for SEMH students across Key Stages 1 and 2, helping to create a personalised, therapeutic, and nurturing learning environment. You will play a key role in supporting pupils to achieve meaningful progress towards their EHCP outcomes while developing confidence, resilience, and essential life skills.
The school is particularly interested in candidates with:
• Experience supporting KS2 pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
• A background in outdoor learning and/or Forest School approaches
• Experience working within a school setting
• A calm, patient, and proactive approach
