The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, pay good attention to detail and innovative processes to extend our offer.

The position is advertised as:
0.8-Full Time
Fixed term to 31.3.27 with potential to renew
£35,000-37,000 based on experience
Reporting to Tramshed Director
Responsible for Hires and Events Coordinator, Venue Technician, Cleaning Team, Duty Managers/Box Office
Tramshed Arts Ltd is the resident company based at the locally listed and loved Tramshed building in the heart of Woolwich. Formally a music and comedy venue, we have delivered arts and community work and events from this space since 2009. In 2019 a £4M refurbishment project saw the space transformed, we now have:
A range of spaces for events, meetings, groups comprising of theatre space with retractable seats, 2 studios and 1 small meeting room
A kitchen/bar area
Designed sustainably to BREEAM standards
Accessibility - Changing Space, loop system, quiet space and flat access throughout
A leased line for Wi-Fi
Excellent transport links – served by the Elizabeth Line, DLR, Overground, 10 bus stops within a 2-minute walk
From late 2025, we will be facilitating 2 additional studios that are currently being built. We will be linked to the new Leisure Centre physically and share some services. We know our newly refurbished building and extra space offers opportunities to generate additional income – through hires, business sponsorship, and social enterprises – that can be reinvested into creating positive impact, but we want to ensure that any earned income is realised through purpose-led models that support and benefit our local community.
Role Key Responsibilities:
Visitor Experience and Front Facing Work
Work with the front of house team to ensure the spaces are in a good state of cleanliness and maintenance, and ensuring rooms and resources are set-up for the relevant hires and creative bookings
Act as key holder/duty manager for approximately 4 x 5-hour shifts per week. This will include: Unlocking/ locking up; fire warden, first aider; Event Manager ensuring events are well planned and delivered
Coordinate and communicate rotas for front of house and cleaning teams, liaising with creative and hires to ensure additional staffing for events is booked in
Working closely with the hires and creative teams to ensure event details are communicated to all front-line team members to ensure a smooth delivery
Work with front of house team to help generate business interest by showcasing our offers in the foyer and helping all staff stay up to date with relative offers
Have oversight of the pop-up bar, including maintaining stock and ensuring a clean/tidy area, etc.
Streamline and deliver a welcome process for room bookers, including space planning and coordination
Building Operations
Managing contracts and servicing for the venue
Lead on Health and Safety and operational meetings for effective planning updates
Designated Premises Supervisor for the building
With the Director, manage operational budgets
Support holistic business risk assessments, feeding into organisation growth plan
Collaborate with the team to ensure collection of key data for Tramshed
Maintain files of organisation information for business planning and reporting
Understand and abide by up-to-date GDPR law in relation to data handling and storage as a Data Processor
Ensure personal and line managed team’s Key Performance Indicators are relevant and achievable, seek out training opportunities to support KPIs and continued professional development of team
Set the culture to maintain an open, welcoming, safe environment for all of Tramshed’s community
Train and motivate the team for client focused work
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Attention to detail
Ability to lead a team / communicate well across the organisation
Proven track record of working with a wide variety of audiences, from community groups to partners
Interest in the role of earned income in a charity, and desire to help champion services and opportunities
Proven track record in a similar role
Subject to enhanced DBS check
Personal Licence Holder
Experience working within a charity or non-profit / arts org
Innovating systems and ways of working
Experience of Arts/Community Administration
Experience of the Theatre Green Book, Carbon Literacy Project
