Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for your next HLTA job in Cambridge?

We''re looking for confident and experienced HLTAs to support schools across Cambridge and wider Cambridgeshire.

This is a great opportunity for a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant, or an experienced Teaching Assistant already carrying out higher-level classroom responsibilities, to find a role that makes good use of their skills.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you''ll provide additional teaching and classroom support while working closely with teachers and other education staff.

Depending on the school, your HLTA responsibilities could include:

• Leading small-group learning

• Delivering planned lessons and activities

• Providing planned classroom cover

• Leading interventions

• Supporting literacy and numeracy

• Working 1:1 with pupils

• Supporting children with SEND

• Monitoring pupil progress

• Helping pupils remain engaged with learning

• Supporting other Teaching Assistants within the classroom

We''d like to hear from candidates who have:

• Previous experience as an HLTA or experienced Teaching Assistant

• Confidence leading learning with groups of pupils

• Strong classroom management skills

• A good understanding of teaching and learning

• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues

An HLTA qualification is advantageous, although relevant experience will also be considered depending on the individual school and role.
