Are you an experienced Principal/Lead/Senior Protection and Control Engineer with experience in the energy sector? We are looking to bring on board a Senior Principal Protection and Control Engineer. You will join a growing and collaborative team, partnering with various clients to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to industry-wide efficiency and environmental challenges. With our ambitious growth plans, there are numerous development opportunities within our teams. This is your chance to play a crucial role in the UK energy transition.
Your Role
Develop scoping documentation and Main Connections and Protection Diagrams.
Review Protection and Control Designs developed by third parties.
Specify PandC related equipment and plant such as relays, CTs, and VTs.
Produce detailed designs including AC/DC schematics.
Conduct protection grading studies, produce relay files and settings.
Review Commissioning Plans and attend Commissioning Panel meetings.

About You
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or a related field.
Experience working on Distribution Networks as a Senior/Principal Protection and Control Design Engineer.
Knowledge and experience with protection relays and relay panels, CT and VT sizing calculations, protection grading studies, and producing detailed AC/DC drawings.
Familiarity with UK electrical practices and standards and an understanding/appreciation of CDM regulations.
High regard for safety with demonstrable experience in risk mitigation.
Experience working with National Grid processes.
